At SNS Academy an International CBSE School, we encourage every student to pursue a broad balanced co-curricular program, providing them with a variety of challenges and experiences through which they can grow into confident, well-rounded individuals. While our performing arts program has many facets, the common thread is building personal confidence through the systematic development of performance skills.
Visual Arts program at SNS Academy strives to develop students' aesthetic, creative, imaginative and critical faculties achieved through the implementation of a coherent, well balanced program across grades.
Students will learn to analyze artists' works and be able to talk about them. Students will explore drawing, painting, sculpting, art history, graphic design, collage, illustration, editorial design and poster design etc.
Students will be encouraged to carry sketchbooks and to develop planning, self evaluation, and art portfolios. Completed art work provides students with a sense of accomplishment; their creations prepare them for their transition to other art forms.
A physical education programme which includes team and individual sport as well as a rigorous physical regime is an essential part of school life. Good health and fitness is a natural outcome of the programme.
SNS Academy is a home equipped with modern sports facilities like, Swimming pool, Indoor badminton courts, table tennis, basketball, soccer field, Throw ball courts, volley ball courts and synthetic tennis court.
The younger ones find their place in the sand pit and the fun play area. Our well-structured sports programme during school hours and the evening sports coaching clinics keep students actively engaged in sports.
All the Students are encouraged to participate in all sports events. Children, who excel in a particular sport or a game, are given the extra coaching after school hours. The school offers specialized training to all students during sports classes.
Our Sports facilities are accessible to our students and parent community in the evenings as well as on weekends by enrolling themselves as a member of the club.
Students from each grade have the opportunity to go for educational trips within the city.. Besides the huge learning that the students carry back from the great outdoors, they develop a close bond with the teachers and friends.
Circle Time activities act as team building exercises that enhance the self esteem of the children. The teacher acts as the facilitator during the class. Each child is encouraged to speak and voice his/her views while the others learn the importance of listening. The skills promoted are speaking, listening, thinking and concentrating. It creates a positive atmosphere in the class and also develops a sense of belonging.
An hour of observing, experimenting and learning through, as the name suggests-discovering! Activities that promote these skills with an element of fun are incorporated into the time table. After giving the instructions, the teacher acts as the facilitator while the children work and draw conclusions independently or as a team.
The activities are designed to develop logical thinking, analytical reasoning and decision making. Alongside, emphasis is given on fine motor skill development and listening skills. Activities undertaken during the Discovery Hour range from worksheets to experiments to even cooking without fire!
To ensure that each and every child takes an interest in reading books, a Reading Club has been set up in school. The teachers identify the books and encourage discussions focused on vocabulary, plot, characterization etc on the books read by children.
